Sharia Law versus Communism & Capitalism

Sharia is the most dominant legal system. This article discusses Sharia law versus communism & capitalism.

Communism

We will start with the worst system, which is communism, and make our way up to Sharia. Communism is a relatively new idea, since society throughout history has always consisted of rich & poor people. However, possibly due to this inequality, people have advocated for a system which ensures that everyone has the same level of wealth.

The first thing that should be noted is that inequality is somewhat inevitable. Even though oppression is rampant in the modern world, inequality would still exist without oppression because it’s the human nature to act stupid. People who do whatever they want usually end up with less than those who resisted their temptations & did what was best for them.

Based on this fact, communism would never work. Because of the fact that it’s human nature to act on temptation, those people tasked with ensuring equality will actually abuse their authority & take all the resources for themselves, unless held to account by the people. This is what happened in the Soviet Union.

China is another example. While China may not have looted their people as the Soviets did, they are taxed heavily & have no freedom left after the Coronavirus pandemic.

The only communist nations left are North Korea, Cuba, Laos, & Vietnam. Anyone traveling to North Korea?

The truth is that socialism has failed. People know that the government is not trustworthy enough to ensure equality. China, North Korea, Laos, Cuba & Vietnam are the only nations left trying to implement communism.

Capitalism

The next best system after communism is capitalism. Capitalism advocates for a legal system that allows for everyone to seek wealth, without any limitations. While this system allows for less authoritative abuse than communism, it has a few major flaws.

The first major flaw is that corporations have more power than people. Corporations become so powerful that they become invincible, doing whatever they want at the cost of their customers knowing that they will not be personally held accountable.

Examples of this problem are not hard to find. American oil company BP was the first to have an outrageous oil spill in the Mexican Gulf, with nothing less than a slap on the wrist from authorities. To be fair though, the US allows for these huge oil tankers to come in & out, which is basically inviting these disasters. Other examples include Monsanto, which is the company behind most genetically modified organisms. They have also caused huge irreparable damage to communities all over the world with their pest-killer chemical known as ‘glysophate’. Again, not much accountability so far.

The reason these companies are able to do these things is not only because the legal system shields officials of LLCs & corporations from liability, but also because government officials cannot withstand the temptation to accept bribes from these companies. While capitalism advocates for a free-market which allows everyone to seek wealth, government officials enact laws that give these corporations exclusive privileges in doing that, at the cost of others.

This trick is known as crony-capitalism, which is a form of corruption. There is nothing stopping this corruption, because the ones supposed to criminalize these bribes are accepting them. They will not criminalize their own actions, and they will not prosecute themselves.

While there is many ‘capitalist’ nations in the world, the truth is capitalism is only slightly better than communism. Authorities in capitalist economies frequently accept bribes & infringe on the free-market. Officials in capitalist nations are no less vulnerable to temptation than their counterparts in socialist states, although they have less power.

The ideal state is not based on the will of men who are vulnerable to temptation. The ideal state is based on the will of Allah SWT. This brings us to Sharia law.

Sharia Law

Sharia law is the word of Allah. Allah is the Arabic term for God. While we are speaking English as we discuss Sharia, we will still use the Arabic term. Since Allah created humans, he knows what is best for us. In the Quran, Allah sent his final word to mankind. The Quran contains many complex rulings, and it’s not something anyone can memorize in one day. The Quran itself was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad in stages.

Being a perfect Muslim is nearly impossible. Allah commands Muslims not to spy or backbite (slander) on one another. Allah also commands Muslims to hold to forgiveness, and not to declare others unfaithful.

However, Quran distinguishes the fundamental rules from the formalities that define the manners of Islam. The fundamental rules are meant to be enforced all throughout society, whereas formalities are still recognized but enforced as the ruler sees fit. So while some Muslim nations have implemented very strict iterations of Sharia, that is not the case in every Muslim country.

Old Islamic architecture in Syria. Damascus, Syria was the capital of the Muslim world during the Umayyad Dynasty.

For example, Saudi Arabia has banned the sale of alcohol, whereas Malaysia still allows the sale of alcohol provided the area is marked as ‘haram’.

Yes, Malaysia is a Muslim country. Sharia is the most dominant legal system in the world, no matter how terrible this article might be. Sharia has been implemented in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Palestine (Gaza), Jordan, Oman, Malaysia, Maldives, Indonesia, Pakistan, Afghanistan, most of North Africa, and Turkey is in the process. I might have forgotten a few countries, Allah reward them.

There are many, many countries that will implement Sharia in the future. Pew Research shows this fact, even without including obvious Sharia-compliant states like Saudi Arabia in the Levant.

Capitalism is also very prevalent in the world, but the western framework for capitalism is collapsing as we speak. Sharia will surpass capitalism as the popular system of law in the near future, if it hasn’t already.

The main reason Sharia has become so popular is because it is superior to any other legal system. It is the only system that still ensures legitimacy, to this day. The laws of Sharia apply to everyone, including government officials.

For example, Sharia criminalizes interest. If the US government wasn’t allowed to impose interest on debts owed by US citizens, we would all be much richer today.

Sharia also criminalizes poison in the markets. Man-made drugs & genetically modified organisms are not prevalent in Muslim countries for this reason. Muslims eat much healthier food than their counterparts in Jewish & Christian communities.

If the FDA existed in any Muslim country, their decisions would quickly be recognized as criminal & they would be punished as if they were complicit in drug importation. Sharia-compliant states ensure the safety of their constituents by stopping the flow of poison before it enters the public market, unlike Western states that allow it until a disaster happens. People in Western countries frequently get food poisoning because restaurants are allowed to sell swine, which is full of parasites which are difficult to cook out. Again, this would not happen in any Muslim country.

People living in Muslim countries are healthier, safer, and happier thanks to Sharia Law. Even though authorities in Muslim countries do slightly limit the freedoms of their constituents, these limitations are only there to prevent people from hurting themselves & their families. Authorities in Muslim countries are much more legitimate than their Western counterparts; they have much lower taxes & much higher respect for their people. There is really no system that can compete with Sharia.
