Police in the US receive a large amount of money from US taxpayers. They have many officers and many combustion emitting vehicles that cost a lot to upkeep. They also have many other machines and pieces of equipment (such as guns) that they claim they need to do their job. Although the criminal justice system should not be incarcerating people, some of this equipment is actually necessary to find real criminals who violate real boundaries of morality in the real world. However, both the sheriff & the police are guilty of stepping far past the boundaries of community trust. This article will discuss how the police are doing the opposite of their job by stealing the money, trust & property of US taxpayers with the permission of obscure city councils.
First and foremost, we should all recognize the fact that the US belonged to Mexicans & Native Americans before they were slaughtered & robbed of their land. Nowadays, as US police enforce laws on stolen land, they are still totally militarized in comparison to many stable & sophisticated nations. In countries such as Ireland, Norway, Iceland, and most of the United Kingdom, the police are largely unarmed. With that aside, we will discuss the daily routine of a police officer and question whether these actions help or hurt the community they are sworn and paid to protect. Many sheriffs and other members of US law enforcement act similarly to police due to the nature of their job as well as the way they are trained & equipped to do it, but again we are focusing on police first due to the disproportionate damage they cause in the community.
When a police officer begins their main routine, after clocking in, they probably get in their expensive, well-kept combustion emitting vehicle and get some coffee. I personally have no problem with coffee, but again I think we can all agree that the ones enforcing vehicle codes such as smog limitations should not be driving these combustion emitting vehicles that are so costly to upkeep.
If you asked a police officer what he does after getting in his expensive US tax-funded vehicle, he would probably tell you that he begins his search for ‘criminals’. However, most ‘officers’ that are out looking for these criminals haven’t been called by anyone. How can a police officer search for criminals if the distressed phone call came from his imagination? Most of the time, US police officers are not looking for criminals. The truth is, most police are actually looking for distressed people with problems keeping up with simple traffic codes, in order to either write them a ticket that will allow the local court to demand what is usually a steep payment, or to target a minority of the officers choosing.
Some people might argue that the police officers are only doing their job as they enforce these traffic codes. However, the police are only doing their job as long as they stay within the boundaries of public trust. Anyone who gets pulled over for driving peacefully thru an area will say he doesn’t want a ticket, and he’ll definitely say he doesn’t want to wait in the weather next to the highway while his vehicle is searched & possibly stolen by traffic authorities. When it really comes down to it, nobody wants these police patrolling their neighborhood giving people fix-it tickets or hindering them on their way to work. Some people might say they want police to enforce traffic codes for safety, but the truth is that they only want other people to get pulled over. Most people only want police to look for real criminals who violate real boundaries of morality in the real world. In reality, how often do we see vehicles that are actually obstructing or endangering traffic safety?
The truth is, there really isn’t that many of criminals or violators of traffic code besides police. In fact, US police commit most crimes against humanity by targeting minorities & distressed people who are totally peaceful, violating their privacy & often stealing their property. Many people growing up in the US agree that police officers are actually terrorizing this society more than protecting it from anything. The number of people besides police officers that are actually disturbing other people is not that high. Most of the time, the disturbances in a community are very minor and don’t require many officers or much equipment. Most of the disturbances in society are probably noise complaints, to be honest. However, some major disturbances do occasionally occur in every society. Some armed individual is needed for these scenarios, to protect innocent lives, but police usually don’t even make it in time. In fact, 95% of the time the police are actually called because of a real crime such as assault or theft, the assailant is gone. This is another fact that reflects how much these bloated US police departments really help ordinary citizens & businesses. Find more on this statistic at http://mises.org/.
It’s time to face the truth and accept the fact that police very rarely protect people from real crimes & threats, and they are given far too much support financially and otherwise. Police actually spend most of their time targeting distressed people to generate revenue for obscure city councils that are far out of touch with their communities. It’s time for people to think about how police affect their loved ones before their loved ones end up targeted by one of the many police that are constantly patrolling peaceful streets looking for ‘criminals’. Police should really be helping people while they wait for a person who is actually distressed to call 911. What US law enforcement is doing now is actually criminal. They are violating peoples right to travel peacefully thru US cities & communities, and often targeting minorities & incarcerating them for crimes that affect nobody. There is far too many police doing this imaginary law enforcement, distressing & destabilizing the community. If police can’t be privatized to support ordinary citizens as they are intended, we need to boycott them & disarm them until trust & equality are established between them & ordinary people. Legal codes need to be rewritten to reflect the severity of these constant crimes being committed by state officials. All state officials guilty of real crimes such as murder, brutality, theft, hypocrisy & discrimination need to be held accountable & prosecuted accordingly in order to empower the next generation.
