How To Boycott Microsoft using Linux

Bill Gates’ Microsoft is one of the biggest monopolies in America, and also a very terrible influence in the world. It’s slow, full of unnecessary software that costs money to use, and it’s a huge security threat to most people. This article will discuss how to boycott Microsoft using Linux & why it is necessary.

First and foremost, it is no secret that Microsoft programs cost money to use. Microsoft Word has steep license fees despite the fact its very simple software & there are many great alternatives. Microsoft also makes heavy programs that run extensively in the background, and this should concern users who value privacy.

In terms of security, Microsoft is bad because all the hackers are targeting Microsoft computers to get what they want. All the big fishes use Microsoft, and the hackers want the big fishes. Many governments & government agencies use Microsoft. This means any Microsoft user is potentially putting themselves at a higher risk of being hacked.

Lastly, as I said, Microsoft is a very terrible influence in the world. Bill Gates has celebrated & promoted genetically modified crops, encouraged abortion among his female workers rather than giving them maternity leave, and who knows what else.

There are many alternatives to Microsoft. This article will cover an operating system called Fedora.

Before installing Fedora onto your computer & erasing Microsoft, there are some things you need to do. Make sure you’ve backed up all your important files to a cloud service or a USB drive.

After you’ve moved all your important things outside of your computer, you can explore Fedoras page & follow their instructions to switching from Microsoft to a much better operating system.

For people that don’t know computers that well, I recommend https://spins.fedoraproject.org/en/kde/.

Besides Fedora, there are many other operating systems besides Microsoft. For people with older computers, I recommend https://www.debian.org/.

Installing Debian is slightly less intuitive than Fedora in my opinion, but it’s not really any more difficult. As long as you don’t mess with the defaults too much & follow the instructions, you will have a quick & lean operating system. It will feel like a whole new experience & a whole new computer compared to Microsoft. If it doesn’t work for some reason, you made a mistake while installing it. You’re computer is not broken. You can try installing it again, or install a different operating system. Different hardware components require different software. While the necessary software is available on all Linux operating systems, not all Linux operating systems include that software in the installation file. Therefore it is sometimes necessary to hook your computer to an Ethernet cord while you install Linux to ensure that any necessary proprietary firmware is installed.
